Freedom in Love

Freedom in Love

 Some fell in love
and became free.
Others fell in love
with their own chains.

Freedom in divine love
is born in the heart.
Deeds may lead to obedience,
But love leads to presence.

 Obey your Lord
And you may be rewarded.
Love your Creator,
And you are already held.

 A free being
is a free heart
free from all
But God.

 Worship may begin as duty,
as discipline, as form…
But when faith settles in the heart,
It no longer asks.

It abides.

And then the heart speaks
to the mind:

In every beat, to Allah, I turn.

My Lord does not sleep,
Nor does He forget.

So, this heart, alive,
will serve in every beat
